SLIPPERY ROCK — Three former and current Slippery Rock Slider pitchers were selected in the Major League Baseball Draft this week:

• Andrew Morris, a 2009 Sliders pitcher from Gulf Coast (Fla.) Community College, was tapped in the 16th round by Milwaukee.

• Tommy Shirley, 2010 Sliders pitcher from Xavier University, was selected in 10th round by Houston.

• Bobby Revesz. 2010 Sliders pitcher from University of Louisville and Grove City High, was taken in 49th round by St. Louis.

CLEVELAND — Michigan State coach Tom Izzo is still undecided about whether he will take over as coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.One day after he and his family visited Cleveland to get a taste of the NBA, Izzo sent a text message Friday to The Associated Press saying he had not made a decision.Izzo is believed to have been offered a five-year, $30 million contract by Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, a Michigan State alum who may be looking to make a big splash with his coaching hire to convince soon-to-be free agent LeBron James to re-sign with Cleveland.

SAN FRANCISCO — Barry Bonds won a big legal victory Friday when a divided three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that prosecutors may not present positive urine samples and other evidence the government said shows Bonds knowingly used steroids.The appeals court ruling upholds a lower court decision made in February 2009 barring federal prosecutors from showing the jury any evidence collected by Bonds' personal trainer Greg Anderson. Bonds' perjury trial, which was scheduled to start in March 2009, has been delayed pending the outcome of this appeal.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Englishman Lee Westwood birdied his final three holes Friday and grabbed a share of a one-stroke lead with Garrett Willis after the second round of the St. Jude Classic.
