Diane Sheets, executive director of the Community Development Corporation of Butler County, said Saturday morning she will continue to work part time for that agency after her full-time position ends in September.

Sheets resigned from her position in a letter to the CDC board on Wednesday.

In that letter, she stated "personal reasons" as the reason for her resignation.

But she will stay on with the CDC through Ken Raybuck's transition into the executive director position. After that, Sheets will continue to work part-time at the CDC.

"I have a great opportunity to continue to do what I love to do, and I'm able to balance that with personal needs now," Sheets said Saturday morning, referring to her 12 years working in community development.

"The board will make an announcement on the next executive, and although they will have experience, we have to bring them up to speed fast, so we will be working together," Sheets said.

Raybuck, formerly with Sky Bank and Huntington Bank, now with the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board, was hired Wednesday by the CDC board.

Sheets became executive director in 2005.
