Driver killed in Route 422 crash in Franklin Twp.
FRANKLIN TWP — A Butler woman died in a two-vehicle collision this morning near the Longhorn Saloon on Route 422.
According to state police, Ellen D. Nadiak, 61, was not wearing a seat belt when the driver's side door of her 2004 Dodge Neon was struck by a car headed west along Route 422 as she pulled onto the highway from a private driveway at about 7:45 a.m.
Nadiak was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma to the head and body by Butler County Deputy Coroner Dennis Trzeciak.
The driver of the second vehicle, Lincoln W. Lias, 47, of Butler was taken by Butler Ambulance service to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate head injuries. A police incident report stated he was not wearing a seat belt, either.
The Prospect and Unionville volunteer fire departments responded to the scene of the accident, assisted by state police, Butler Ambulance and JR's Towing, which removed both vehicles from the road.
