PITTSBURGH — Police said a motorist died after he was shot by someone in another car before crashing into a house.

Investigators said Lamar Williams, 24, was shot multiple times Thursday afternoon when a car pulled up beside him and fired into the car he was driving.

Police said Williams drove a short distance before crashing into the garage of a house in the city's Overbrook neighborhood. Williams died at the scene, and no other injuries were reported.

Officers recovered a gun in a nearby yard and found a car they believe might have been involved in the shooting.

Police said they will review surveillance tape from nearby cameras for leads.

HERSHEY — Workers at the hometown plants of chocolate manufacturer Hershey are voting on a labor deal that could cut hundreds of jobs.Employees began voting this morning on a restructuring agreement that would expand one of the plants in Hershey and turn the original factory built by founder Milton Hershey into an office building.The Pennsylvania-based candy company could cut up to 600 jobs under the plan.Union negotiators and company officials reached a tentative agreement Tuesday. The deal must be approved by a majority of the approximately 1,600 members who work at both factories.Hershey has threatened to move the expansion and jobs elsewhere if the union rejects the deal.

WILLIAMSPORT — A Penn State student settled a federal lawsuit alleging he was injured after being tackled by university police during an annual naked run on campus to usher in spring finals.Christopher Ferry of West Chester had sought more than $150,000 in damages.His attorney Benjamin Lichtman wouldn't comment Thursday except to confirm the suit was settled. The terms of the settlement weren't released.Ferry said an officer knocked him down during the 2008 "Mifflin Streak" run and three more officers tackled him, causing a concussion and broken collarbone.

LANCASTER — A man was arrested after police said he stole more than 300 pornographic DVDs from an adult bookstore.Authorities said Jaye Ashby Gibson, 43, stole 339 DVDs worth more than $11,000 from Downtown Books in Lancaster.Lt. Todd Umstead said officers responding to a burglary alarm found no sign of forced entry but surveillance footage from nearby cameras shows Gibson approaching the store empty-handed and leaving the area with the DVDs on May 23.Gibson was arrested Tuesday and charged with burglary.
