PITTSBURGH — A federal judge awarded lawyers for a protest group about $96,000 in legal fees stemming from the city's effort to bar an exhibit during the Group of 20 economic summit last fall.

U.S. District Judge Gary Lancaster reduced the requested fees by 25 percent because they lost two of three legal claims seeking access to city sites for protesters.

Lancaster granted an injunction for Code Pink's exhibit in Point State Park during the September summit but denied other groups' bids for a rally on a bridge and an overnight camp in another park.

The judge last month denied a city request to dismiss a lawsuit by the Seeds of Peace Collective and Three Rivers Climate Convergence alleging violation of their constitutional rights.
