BRUIN — A downed electrical line this morning left roughly 50 Allegheny Power customers in the borough without power.

The line, which was above a field off Kittanning Pike Road in Parker Township, was knocked down when a storm passed through.

The outage was reported at 4:57 a.m. Crews are making repairs.

Doug Colafella, Allegheny Power spokesman, said this morning there were 700 customers throughout Butler County who lost power at some point since Wednesday night.

"We've had scattered outages in Butler since the storms came through last night," he said.

Colafella said the wind and falling tree limbs caused many of the outages.

Power was restored to the 650 customers outside Bruin.

The company website states power will be restored to customers still without power by 4 p.m. today.

Rain from the storm totaled .86 inches.
