PHILADELPHIA — A 21-year-old New Jersey man has pleaded guilty to intentionally vomiting on a man and his 11-year-old daughter in the stands during a Philadelphia Phillies game.

Matthew Clemmens of Cherry Hill, N.J., pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges stemming from the incident at a Phillies-Nationals game on April 14.

Police say Clemmens stuck his fingers down his throat and vomited on Easton police Captain Michael Vangelo and his younger daughter after his companion was ejected from the park.

Clemmens pleaded guilty to simple assault and other charges. Sentencing is set for July 30.

Assistant District Attorney Patrick Doyle says the Vangelo family is satisfied by the plea.

Public defender Richard Hark says Clemmens accepts responsibility for his actions.

APOLLO — A 49-year-old man is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on charges he fatally shot his mother, sister and aunt in the small-town glass shop he owned.State police say Kevin Lee Murphy's family objected to his relationship with a married woman and say he used the computer of his Loyalhanna Township business to search for material on incest and information about "how to make poison" before the killings.Police and Westmoreland County District Attorney John Peck haven't explained how any of that is relevant to the killings, but say Murphy has also since tried to acquire nearly $316,000 from the estates of his mother and sister.A judge must determine today if Murphy will stand trial on three counts each of first-degree murder and criminal homicide.

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania elections officials say Scott Conklin leads Jonathan Saidel by 3,862 votes after tallying unofficial returns from all 67 counties in the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor.Secretary of State Pedro Cortes announced the margin Tuesday, a week after ballots were cast for the party nomination.Saidel is close enough to trigger an automatic recount under state law.Cortes says the recount could start next week if Saidel doesn't waive it. It's expected to cost about $500,000.

ERIE — An Erie-area woman is dead after she was hit by a tractor and front end loader her husband was driving as the couple worked on landscaping together.Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook says 63-year-old Sally Fiesler, of Waterford Township, was hit by the tractor about 5:45 p.m. Monday. She was pronounced dead a short time later at Hamot Medical Center in Erie.

DILLINER — A man will stand trial on a charge of cruelty to animals for allegedly shooting his wife's cat inside their mobile home.Greene County prosecutors earlier withdrew a more serious charge of reckless endangerment against 37-year-old Charles Cleaver, and a district judge dismissed a charge of discharging a gun in an occupied structure.State police say Cleaver came home from a bar and asked his wife where his .22-caliber rifle was about 2:30 a.m. March 15. His wife told police Cleaver found the gun and shot the cat as it played with a toy nearby, then threw the still-moving animal outside.Police say they arrived to find the dead cat outside, and Cleaver asleep inside, not far from a bullet hole and blood stains.Cleaver has pleaded not guilty.

PHILADELPHIA — Airline officials are trying to figure out how a sleeping passenger was left aboard a flight that landed in Philadelphia for several hours before being discovered by a cleaning crew.According to police and the Transportation Security Administration, the passenger didn't wake up when her United Express flight from Washington D.C. landed shortly after midnight Tuesday. It wasn't until nearly 4 a.m. that a cleaning crew discovered the sleeping woman.United Airlines says they're working with a regional partner carrier to determine why the plane wasn't cleared upon landing.

AMBRIDGE — The attorney for a man charged with killing another man over what authorities say was apparently a love triangle says his client fired in self-defense.Twenty-five-year-old Terel Dixon of Aliquippa is accused of shooting 45-year-old Kevin Johnson to death in Ambridge earlier this month. Beaver County District Judge William Livingston on Tuesday ordered him to stand trial on charges of homicide, reckless endangerment and a firearms crime.Police said Dixon was fixing the door of the apartment of a woman who had a relationship with both men. Police said Johnson came to the home and the woman refused to allow him inside, but he forced his way in and an argument began that ended with the shooting.Defense attorney Steven Valsamidis says his client fired in self-defense and he will pursue a justifiable homicide defense when the case goes to trial.
