COWANSVILLE — The North Country Bluegrass Festival will help mark the re-opening of Paradise Park at 1576 Route 268.

Over Memorial Day weekend, three days of bluegrass music will help reopen a well-known country music venue, now named God's Country Paradise Park.

Bluegrass bands from around the region will be taking to the stage once occupied by notable country musicians, including Conway Twitty, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, The Judds, Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs and Bill Monroe.

From May 28 to 30, the North Country Bluegrass Festival's schedule will include Hank Sobah, Grover and the Night Hawks, 3+2, Old Dawg, Still House Pickers, Mule Factory, Allegheny String Band and Mac Martin and the Dixie Travelers.

Bands will perform in the covered pavilion, with a capacity to seat up 3,000 people undercover, and more outside in the amphitheater surrounding the pavilion.

The family-friendly festival will include a classic car cruise on May 29, camp fire jam sessions nightly, a fishing tournament, midnight movies, hay rides and other festivities.

Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. May 28, 1 to 11 p.m. May 29 and 1 to 10 p.m. May 30.

Admission is $10 per carload, with camp sites available. Those attending the concerts should take lawn chairs.
