SLIPPERY ROCK — Five members of the Slippery Rock University women's track and field team qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships, which will be held May 27 to 29 at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C.
Jen Hansen has the second-best seed in the pole vault, and Jen Harpp will compete in the 10,000 meters. Both won PSAC titles in their respective events.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Former Slippery Rock University men's soccer player Jeremy Deighton scored his first pro goal last weekend.Playing for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United States Soccer League Second Division (0-2-3), Deighton scored on a header in the 69th minute of Pittsburgh's 2-1 loss to the Charleston (W.Va.)
