PITTSBURGH — Two woman are facing charges after a 9-year-old girl was discovered locked inside her Pittsburgh home with a 1-year-old baby.

Police say 42-year-old Mariame Diane is facing two counts of endangering the welfare of children after her daughter was discovered Friday night caring for the baby inside the East Liberty home.

Investigators say the 9-year-old repeatedly dialed 911 and was holding the baby when officers forced their way inside.

Authorities say Diane told them she left an 18-year-old relative in charge of the children. A warrant has been issued for that woman's arrest.

County family services workers have taken custody of the children.

BEAVER — A man faces life in prison without possibility of parole after being convicted of shooting his cousin to death last year.Authorities in Beaver County said 21-year-old Markez Priest shot 20-year-old Darius Odom in Aliquippa on July 9. Police said they believed the victim was shot because he had been seeing Priest's on-again, off-again girlfriend. The early-morning shooting took place in front of her house.
