Should be sales taxes. Everyone buys things. Everyone pays sales taxes. People should not be punished because they have a nice house. Rich people buy more things, they would pay more taxes. Poor people buy fewer things, they would pay less. Illegals buy things, people here on vacation buy things, extra money for the schools.

I think it is a very simple concept and I really don't know who came up with the idea that property taxes should fund schools in the first place.

I think all income taxes should go away as well. One third of the people cheat on their taxes, one third get paid under the table and pay no taxes, leaving the entire burden to honest middle income people. It is ridiculous! Get rid of the IRS completely and have a federal, state and local sales tax. With all the extra people paying, the amount would be spread out and probably much less than we pay now.
