MUDDY CREEK TWP — Portersville Christian School will present the musical "Beauty and the Beast" at 7 p.m. April 29 through May 1 at the school, 343 E. Portersville Road. A free matinee for senior citizens is set for 1 p.m. April 28.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $10 for adults, $5 for students and $8 for college students with identification. Admission is free for children 5 and younger.

Based on the book by Linda Woolverton with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, the story centers around a French beauty named Belle, who agrees to captivity with a horrible beast in exchange for the release of her father, Maurice.

The show is being directed by Ryan Ingram, with Debbe Picerno as music director and Marcy Snyder as choreographer. Stage construction is by Eric Slater and Nate Oesterling, with makeup by Kiara Franko.
