SARVER — Deb Strain, Moda fabric designer and originator of Saltbox Quilt Designs, will give a presentation at 6:30 p.m. April 26 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 409 Sarver Road. The event is sponsored by the Pieceful Patchers Quilt Guild.

LYNDORA — A Night at the Races event will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave.The evening includes horse races, 50/50, door prizes and a Chinese auction. Tickets are available at the door, or purchase in advance by calling Jane at 724-898-3636. Proceeds benefit breast cancer research.

Program at 6 p.m. with speakers Kathy Treme and Leslie Osche from United Way on the importance of volunteering.• 5 p.m. May 11, Mars Senior Center. Musical entertainment at 6 p.m. provided by North Suburban Symphonic Band.• 5 p.m. May 19, Cranberry Senior Center. Ask the Lawyer program at 6 p.m. with guest attorneys Murray Shapiro and Mike Pater.

FREEPORT — The Freeport Renaissance Association will host a Nifty Fifties luncheon at 1 p.m. May 1 at the United Presbyterian Church of Freeport, 411 High St.There will be a fashion show, doll show and entertainment.For tickets, call Sue at 724-295-2041 or Cindy at 724-295-0525 or visit the Freeport Area Library. MARS — A yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Mars Alliance Church, 997 Route 228.All proceeds will be used to help purchase supplies for the VBS and to help fund a mission trip to Guadalajara, Mexico.For information, visit the Mars Alliance website at www.marsalliance.org.
