MIDDLESEX TWP — Morning rush hour traffic along Route 8 was mostly blocked about 6:45 a.m. when a couple tractor-trailer rigs wrecked at the intersection with Route 228 East. By 8:30 a.m., northbound traffic on Route 8 still was backed up and vehicles were turning around to head southbound. Some southbound traffic was getting through the intersection in the right lane. The delay in clearing the intersection apparently was caused by the need to transfer the load from one or both of the rigs.
