PITTSBURGH — "Cereal Cels: Breakfast Icons" continues through Saturday at the ToonSeum, 945 Liberty Ave.

This exhibition of original production art features favorite breakfast cereal spokescharacters.

Cartoons have been used to sell products for more than 100 years, but the popularity of the cereal box characters is still magically delicious.

Culled from 50 years of animated TV commercials, the "Cereal Cels" exhibit is a nostalgic celebration of all those mornings spent with toucans, sea captains and talking frogs.

A Cartoon BreakFEST! event will feature a cereal bar and a live cartooning performance by Joe Wos of Once Upon a Toon from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per person; children age 2 and younger are admitted free.

"Comics For Comics," a comedy concert to benefit the ToonSeum, will take place at 9 p.m. April 1 at Little E's, 949 Liberty Ave.

A pre-party will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the ToonSeum.
