Lifesteps' Child Check team will conduct free screenings for children from birth to age 5 on the following dates.
• 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Butler County Family YMCA, 339 W. Washington St., Butler.
• 1 to 3 p.m. April 13, Early Education Center, VA Butler Healthcare, Building 68, Butler Township.
Visits take about 30 minutes and results are discussed immediately. The screening looks at the child's development in the areas of playing, talking, seeing, hearing, moving and thinking.

BUTLER TWP — A Families Forever seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 17 at Lifesteps, 383 New Castle Road. Enrollment closes two weeks before class.Families Forever teaches parents how to minimize the negative effects on children involved in divorce and/or custody situations.To register, call 724-283-1010.
MARS — Mars Library, 107 Grand Ave., will host a card game night from 7 to 8 p.m. April 7.Children, teens, adults and families will learn and play card games like Screech, Spit and Spoons. WINFIELD TWP — A community cabaret dinner show will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. April 10 at St. Luke Church, 330 Hannahstown Road.Local youth will perform music from the 1920s, 30s and 40s. The evening includes a turkey dinner.Tickets will be sold until April 2. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
