Don't you people ever get tired of constantly degrading teachers?

Having worked for 37 years with teachers, I find 97% of them to be caring, hardworking, conscientious, and dedicated professionals. Your constant references to teachers being overpaid and lazy lack credibility.

Education is a difficult endeavor,as my results with a child are not simply dependent on my own expertise and efforts. They are also dependent on a child who comes to school everyday willing to work to the utmost of their ability, complete homework as directed,and behave appropriately toward both fellow students and their teachers. Educational results are also dependent on a parent who backs me 100% of the time, sees that their child does all homework, gets to bed on time, and makes education a priority over sports, video games, etc. Fewer than 1/3 of parents attend parent conferences, curriculum nights, and PTA meetings.

Many of the negative references towards teachers come from the same few who post here.

Try following in your child's teacher's footsteps for a week and see exactly how "easy" of a job education really is.

Maybe then you'd realize just how shallow and simplistic your "bad teacher" arguments really are.
