PITTSBURGH — A Commonwealth Court judge in Pittsburgh has rejected a claim that an Erie-area Congresswoman didn't have enough proper signatures on her nominating petitions.

Judge Bernard McGinley on Wednesday rejected the challenge filed by Democrat Mel Marin, who was seeking to get U.S. Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper, D-Pa. knocked off the May 18 primary ballot.

The judge rejected Marin's claims that Dahlkemper didn't have the 1,000 signatures necessary to be on the ballot.

CLAIRTON — A coroner says a 2-year-old Pittsburgh boy's death has been ruled a homicide.The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office says Tashaud Thompson suffered head injuries and died of blunt force trauma to the head on Wednesday night.The boy had been hospitalized a day earlier after his grandmother called 911 from her home in Clairton.Police won't say who was home at the time, but the boy's father says the grandmother's boyfriend was watching the child when he was hurt.Investigators say they're trying to determine if the child's injuries were accidental or intentional.

DOYLESTOWN — A Philadelphia woman accused of offering sexual favors for World Series tickets has been found not guilty of prostitution, but guilty of attempted prostitution.Susan Finkelstein, 44, took the stand earlier Thursday during her trial in Bucks County Court. She said she placed an ad with sexual overtones, but that she's not a prostitute.Authorities allege Finkelstein met with an undercover police officer in October and offered to perform sexual acts in exchange for tickets to the World Series between the Phillies and the New York Yankees.
