Back when my Mom was young, it was not unheard of for families to have 10 kids, now people have 1 or 2. All of this adds to the problems with Social Security. So again, if you don't like it, don't accept the checks when they come - and they do come, every single month. My mother never worked a day in her life. Dad died 10 years ago, but Mom's checks continue to come.
