SAXONBURG — The Rock at Knoch will take place April 17 at Knoch High School.Bands are guaranteed up to 30 minutes of playing time and up to 13 bands will be accepted. The first band will go on at 1 p.m. and the last will begin at about 9 p.m.This is a "battle of the bands" type show with voting to determine the winner.All band members must be age 21 or younger on the date of the show. FOXBURG — Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts is holding a Maple Syrup Festival on Saturday at RiverStone Farm on Foxview Road off Route 58 opposite the Allegheny Clarion Medical Center.The festival will run from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The day starts with a flapjack breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Weather permitting, wagon rides to gather syrup buckets and tour the Sugar House will be ongoing from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.Beginning at 1 p.m., there will be an impromptu bluegrass jam session at the RiverStone Event Barn, which also houses restored horse-drawn wagons and carriages. Cloggers and flatfoot dancing demonstration will be held at 2 and 3:30 p.m.Admission, including the pancake breakfast, is $10 for adults and $6 for children younger than 12.
