Here are a few highlights of Seneca Valley graduate Alyson Intihar's career at Cornell University. She is one of 30 nominees nationwide for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award:
• Carries a 3.72 grade point average as an applied economics and management major. She is an Academic all-Ivy selection, a Meinig Family National Scholar and a member of the dean's list for five semesters.
n Serves as co-captain of the Cornell softball team and has served as secretary of the Student Athlete Advisory Council's executive board.
• Was part of an international student volunteers group that worked in a Quichuan community, Campo Cocha, located in the Amazon basin of Ecuador, helping to build a medicinal garden, constructing fences with bamboo and teaching a sixth-grade math class
• Was the 2009 Ivy League Softball Player of the Year, batting .394 with 14 doubles, two triples, two home runs and a school-record 51 runs scored.
• A three-time all-Ivy League selection, has started all 153 games in her career for the Big Red and ranks among the top 10 all time in 16 offensive categories entering her senior year.
