With all due respect, Gail, you should really check your facts out first before posting. Stating that Butler sports have a history of losing is just not true. Butler sports, in particular girls' sports, have been playoff bound year after year. Just b/c the football team has had a rough time in the last several years doesn't mean the rest of the sports have! The volleyball team is ranked as one of the best in the state...so if they had over 140 kids tryout, they must be doing something right! And oh, by the way, the girls bball team has been on the map for well over 10 years...they play Friday night in the second round of the WPIAL playoffs...you may want to check them out. I could go on and on about the winning programs...track, bball, softball, rifle, bowling, swimming, tennis, wrestling (and I'm sure I've missed a few others). So, maybe vball isn't your daughter's sport, she should be lucky she attends butler because she has a lot of other great sports to choose from. I always say, if you start criticizing a coach or program, perhaps you should try it yourself. Sounds like you have a great vball background. Smells like sour grapes to me.
