PITTSBURGH — The attorney for a Pittsburgh teenage arts student who claims three city police officers beat him during his arrest says the teen has passed an FBI lie detector test.

Kerrington Lewis, the attorney for 18-year-old Jordan Miles, says Miles was given the two-hour test on Monday.

The FBI is investigating Miles' civil rights allegations. Miles claims the officers beat him on Jan. 12 when he was walking to his grandmother's house.

Police say they thought Miles had a weapon and was acting suspiciously. The black teenager contends the white officers attacked him because they assumed he was a troublemaker because of his race.

Miles is charged with assault, but Lewis says Miles is the victim. The officers have been suspended.

PITTSBURGH — A retired showboat docked in Pittsburgh is sinking into the Ohio River.The Becky Thatcher was built in 1926 and used by the Army Corps of Engineers to inspect and survey rivers. Despite that, the boat also had accommodations for 65 passengers.The boat was retired in 1961 and used as a floating restaurant and museum in Hannibal, Mo. and was later restored though its boilers and engines were removed.Nashville entrepreneur Jeffrey Nevin bought the boat and docked it on Neville Island near Pittsburgh last fall in hopes of reopening it as a restaurant.
