These offices and meetings were canceled or closed because of the snow storm:

• The Butler IRS office is closed today.

• The Buffalo Township supervisors canceled their meeting tonight.

• Butler County Family YMCA is closed today.

• The Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA Cranberry YMCA is closed today.

• The Butler and South Butler County Family YMCA child care facilities are closed today.

In other snow related news, Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl had his city hire 20 private contractors to bolster its 60-vehicle municipal fleet. The contractors are supplying 50 plows and salt trucks because city crews struggled to clear 21 inches of snow from streets before more arrived overnight.

Nearly all flights were canceled at Philadelphia International Airport because of snow and ice.
