Reward offered in Cherry Township blaze

CHERRY TWP — A Callery couple is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever robbed and set fire to their home Friday morning.

A state police fire marshal was called to the scene this morning. About two dozen firefighters fought the blaze.

"This was my grandparents' house," said Lorena Adams.

"I bought it a few years ago, in 2005, and my husband and I had almost finished renovating it," she said Friday afternoon.

Although the 1Z\x-story brick home at 170 Coaltown Road in Cherry Township was unoccupied, it was not abandoned. The Adamses had tools for their renovation project and some personal belongings in the house, which Lorena Adams said was a complete loss.

Adams said, "If they were going to steal something, they could have just taken it and gone. They didn't have to burn down the house."
