WILKES-BARRE — Jurors have been hearing the prosecution's case against a northeastern Pennsylvania woman who marketed "gothic kittens" with ear and neck piercings over the Internet.

Prosecutors called five witnesses Tuesday in the animal cruelty case against 35-year-old dog groomer Holly Crawford.

Carol Morrison, an officer with the SPCA Humane Society, said she found three kittens that appeared sickly when authorities searched Crawford's Ross Township home in December 2008. A veterinarian testified that the defendant's actions meet the legal definition of animal cruelty.
