PITTSBURGH — The state Supreme Court has ruled that a central Pennsylvania jury will decide the fate of a man accused of killing three Pittsburgh police officers.

The jury will come from Dauphin County because of intense pretrial publicity in the Pittsburgh area. Dauphin County is about 165 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Twenty-three-year-old Richard Poplawski is accused of gunning down three officers last April as they responded to a domestic disturbance at his home.

A trial date has not been set.
