BETHLEHEM — Police in eastern Pennsylvania say a man frustrated with bank overdraft charges threatened to rob the branch and invited a TV station to film him doing it.

Colonial Regional police say 40-year-old Francis Coleman called WFMZ on Wednesday night to say he was upset with a Bank of America branch in Bethlehem. Police say Coleman told the station to be at the bank at 11 a.m. Thursday with "cameras rolling" because he was going to rob it.

A WFMZ producer says Coleman left his name and phone number when he called. WFMZ reported the threat to police, who went to Coleman's home in Hanover Township.

Coleman is charged with making terroristic threats.

UNIONTOWN — A woman will spend six months to three years in prison for attacking a school principal after the woman's son was suspended.Police say 41-year-old Wendy Thomas attacked Ben Franklin School principal Yolanda Defino in her office Feb. 20. Police say Thomas slapped the principal, pulled her from her chair, slammed her to the floor and kicked her in the chest. Defino is still in therapy for neck pain.Thomas apologized at her sentencing Thursday. She had previously pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.Thomas' attorney and husband argued for leniency, saying she had mental health issues and that the attack was spurred by a steroid treatment for an autoimmune disorder.

PITTSBURGH — A medical examiner says the death of an 8-year-old boy who was shot while hunting raccoons with relatives was an accident.The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office says Rudy Shetler, of Fredonia, was shot in the head when a dog knocked over a rifle that had been propped up near the boy. The gun fired when it fell over.State police say the boy was shot in the head about 10:10 p.m. Monday in a wooded area of Delaware Township, Mercer County. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner investigated because the boy died Tuesday at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH — State gaming regulators fined Pittsburgh's casino because a 15-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy managed to gamble there for a few minutes each last year. The $16,000 fine imposed on the Rivers Casino Wednesday was part of a consent agreement between the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and Holdings Acquisition Co. L.P., which owns the casino.The gaming board says a 15-year-old girl gambled for about 17 minutes on Oct. 15, while a 14-year-old boy played slots for about four minutes on Dec. 13 before he was caught.State law prohibits anyone under 21 to play slot machines and anyone under 18 from being on the casino floor.
