Yes I guess you did miss Hurricane Katrina when it came through New Orleans.Many are still homeless and living in delapidated shacks and mobile homes but most were unable to recover.And yes we had thousands upon thousands of dead.Thank you to the U.S. government for their "quick" response. We have had our share of devistation here, are you that naive or just dense? Locally but less devistating in Etna.Many of my friends lost everything they owned and FEMA came in and said there wasn't enough damage for the feds to come in and to get government assistance. It seems that if your not an American you get treated far better by our government. Again, I sympathize with Haiti. please do not think I am belittling the situation there. I only want the same treatment for our own citizens and Idon't think that is too much to ask for.If we help ourselves first and then others I think this nation will be internally stronger.
