What a great post! Unfortunately people like Joe and Joyce are more worried about American Idol being pre-empted, than people dying in the streets.

We went to Cancun a few years ago, right after hurricane Stan went through. The whole place was flooded. Those poor people lived in abandoned, half built hotels. All that was there were walls. Where the windows would have been were just open, and the people hung their laundry there to dry. The area should have been tropical rain forest, which probably would have sucked up all the excess water, but all the trees were gone - cut down by people who insist on Mohagany and Teak furniture. We didn't cause the hurricane, but we probably were a major contributor in their suffering by our ignorance.
