One man is dead and another injured following an early morning shooting.

Investigators say the shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the city's Fineview neighborhood.

Police say two men were in a car when several people got out of a van in front of them and began firing through the windshield.

Authorities say the driver was dead at the scene and his passenger was shot multiple times and taken to a hospital.

The Allegheny County District Attorney wants the death penalty for a man accused of fatally shooting a suburban Pittsburgh police officer.District Attorney Stephen Zappala Jr. says 32-year-old Ronald Robinson shot Penn Hills officer Michael Crawshaw on Dec. 6 after leaving a house where Robinson had just shot and killed a man over a $500 drug debt.The officer was waiting for backup when he was killed.

Pittsburgh police say a school bus driver was drunk or on drugs when he ran a red light then nearly hit a light pole while driving 15 high school students on a field trip.Brian Dunlap, 38, was charged with driving under the influence and endangering the Carrick High School students on his bus after his arrest about 6:45 p.m. Monday.Police say the students were alarmed by the driver's glassy eyes and slurred speech.
