LANCASTER — A former visiting nurse was convicted of third-degree murder for giving an 11-year-old central Pennsylvania boy a lethal dose of morphine.

A Lancaster County jury also found Joy O'Shea Woomer, 50, guilty of drug delivery resulting in death and delivery of a controlled substance. Jurors reached their verdict Friday after more than six hours of deliberations.

Prosecutors say Woomer gave Brent Weaver a fatal dose of morphine at his East Hempfield Township home in September 2002. Woomer testified she never gave any medication to the boy, who had cerebral palsy.

DOYLESTOWN — A Philadelphia woman accused by suburban police of having offered sex for World Series tickets pleaded not guilty to prostitution charges.Bensalem police allege Susan Finkelstein sent sexually explicit photos of herself after posting an online Craigslist ad in October and made graphic suggestions when she met with an undercover officer at a bar. Finkelstein said she was merely being creative in her attempt to take her husband to a game between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees.
