No, the magic jack is everything advertised and more. There are a few quirks. They don't offer number porting or Butler exchanges yet so you only get to pick from like... Indiana, New Castle or a few other cities from the 724 area code.

Like I had mentioned before you need to keep a computer on to have phone service. Your number never gets listed in any phone directory, so there is no threat of ever getting telemarketing calls.

The other features are almost identical to Armstrong's service. I get an email of the .wav file when I get a voice mail, etc. One of my favorite features is that "call forwarding" is as simple as taking the jack itself to a different location with you.

It will not work with Guardian Protection services though.
