Ed/Tim
Ed,
Did you try to see what you could get with rabbit ears? We got one of those Magnavox converter boxes and can get 30 channels using our antenna. We did buy an antenna that is as big as a small plane, though, so I'm not sure what you would get, but it's worth a try. Also use the multiple monitor feature on your computer and hook your tv up to it. You can get many tv channels - discovery, history, comedy central - from hulu. I have - I think they call it internet 500- and we do have to make sure all the other computers are off to avoid interference, but to save $120/month, it's worth it. I really didn't think we watched enough tv to justify that charge. (The $120 included cutting the VOIP, too)
Tim,
You're absolutely right, 100 channels and nothing is on. But I don't buy DVDs. Netflix is only $10.00 month and they have tons of instant watch movies, besides ordering favorites.
