New Castle St., celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of the oil industry with two exhibits, will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays during November and December (except Dec. 20). The William A. Lowry Family exhibit is now open for viewing. Lowry was a prominent Butler citizen who was a Civil War veteran and community leader. Harmony Museum on Mercer Street in Harmony, will host a scenic hike and "history party," commemorating George Washington's travels through Butler County in 1753, on Friday. The day starts and ends with Harmony Museum tours and a hot-apple cider and cookies reception in the museum's Stewart Hall on the diamond. Event hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with hike departures scheduled for 11 and 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Cost is $5 per person, or $12 per family. Reservations are encouraged.
