Bus trip reservations are being taken to benefit the George Junior Republic Scholarship Fund.

The trip departs at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 16 for lunch at the Lamont Restaurant on Mt. Washington and a concert by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

BUTLER TWP — An indoor garage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 14 at the South Butler Fire Hall, Old Plank Road.Proceeds benefit the South Butler Volunteer Fire Department.There will also be a bake sale and lunch will be available.

ZELIENOPLE — The Girls Scouts of Western Pennsylvania will host a "Friend-raiser" for Girl Scout alumnae, business leaders and friends of Girl Scouting from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Strand Theater, 119 N. LYNDORA — St. Andrew Orthodox Church, 201 Penn Ave., will hold its annual cookie sale starting at 10 a.m. Nov. 21 until sold out.A raffle will be held and prizes include a holiday wreath, pantry basket and a restaurant gift certificate. Proceeds benefit the church.

LIFE Butler County will hold a community open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 13 at the LIFE Butler County Adult Day Center, 231 W. Diamond St. Information will be provided on free services for qualified older adults in Butler County to enable them to live independently in their own homes.

CRANBERRY TWP — "Rubik's Cube Genealogy: A New Twist on Your Old Data" will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 in the conference room of Cranberry Township Library, 2525 Rochester Road. Genealogist Elissa Powell will discuss methods of finding further clues into family histories.

CRANBERRY TWP — The Venture Club of North Pittsburgh will hold its annual toy drive from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Cranberry Municipal Building, 2525 Rochester Road.
