State's jobless rate up in Sept.
HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania employers trimmed payrolls again in September as the state's unemployment rate rose to its highest mark in a quarter-century.
The state Department of Labor and Industry estimated Thursday that Pennsylvania employers cut just more than 10,000 jobs in September.
Since the national recession began in December 2007, Pennsylvania has lost more than 200,000 jobs, or about one in 28.
