Saxonburg gives OK to first phase
SAXONBURG — Borough council Wednesday approved the first phase of a land development plan for a two-story office building at the intersection of South Rebecca Street and Alwine Road.
Under the first phase, South Butler Medical Holdings will construct a 20,000-square-foot office building on the roughly 2-acre parcel.
The borough's consent is contingent on state Department of Environmental Protection approval of the site's sewage system.
Steve Vargosko, managing member of South Butler Medical Holdings, said construction on the South Butler Medical Center will begin pending DEP approval.
"We're hoping to get in the ground this year," he said.
The final plan was scaled down from the preliminary plan, which had a 30,000-square-foot building.
