The Associated Artists of Butler County is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a retrospective exhibit and other events.

The exhibit will open at 10 a.m. Oct. 17 with a day of activities that will continue through the evening. Demonstrations, hands-on projects and refreshments are planned. An awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.

Artifacts from the past 75 years will be on display and for sale.

The exhibit will run through Nov. 6.

Regular gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, noon to 9 p.m. Fridays, and noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays.

NORTH WASHINGTON — A "Fight for the Cure" benefit for Jeff Stockert will include music and a car display from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the North Washington Social Hall, Route 38.A spaghetti dinner will be offered.Stockert, 45, of West Sunbury was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. He is unable to work as he undergoes chemotherapy treatments and awaits a donor for a blood stem cell transplant. GROVE CITY — The Guthrie Arts Guild will have its second event this season at noon Friday in the Guthrie Theatre on South Broad Street.The event will bring back artist "Banjo Joe" Dinwiddie to the Guthrie's stage. A Kentucky native, Dinwiddie plays banjo, piano, jawharp, mandolin and harmonica in a variety of styles. PITTSBURGH — "DogJack," a family friendly film and novel inspired by a dog featured in a photograph at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland, will have two shows, one at 2:30 and another at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in the hall's auditorium in Oakland.The story, by New Wilmington native Florence Biros, is about a dog from Pittsburgh who became a Civil War hero.Filmed in Western Pennsylvania and Illinois, the film is narrated by actor Louis Gossett Jr.Tickets for the 2:30 p.m. matinee are $10 for adults, and $5 for students ages 6 to 14.
