Butler, GC airports get cash

HARRISBURG — State airports will get $6.5 million for safety and facility improvements, Gov. Ed Rendell's office announced Friday.

Two of the 10 airports that will receive money are Butler County Airport and Grove City Regional Airport.

The Butler airport will use $273,000 to buy land in the runway protection zone and remove obstructions.

The Grove City airport will use $153,947 to remove obstructions at the end of the runway.

The state money comes from the jet fuel tax.
