State police are searching for a mid-1990s, hunter green colored, rusted van after they say a man tried to lure a 13-year-old girl into it Monday.

According to a state police report, the Chicora girl was walking near Missionary Alliance Church on East Slippery Rock Road at about 5 p.m. when the van, traveling west, pulled into the church parking lot.

A male passenger got out of the van, opened the sliding rear passenger door and asked the girl to come over to the van. Instead, she fled on foot.

The passenger was about 45 years old with brown hair and an unshaven face. He stood between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, with a medium build.

The van's make and model are unknown.
