JEFFERSON TWP. — Concordia Visiting Nurses will host a flu vaccine clinic from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 3 in the Haven I first floor lounge, 112 Marwood Road.Those with Medicare B, Security Blue or Freedom Blue should take their insurance cards and CVN will bill their insurance carrier directly. Individuals also may pay privately. Receipts will be available if their insurance covers the shot.CVN nurses will be there to provide education on the H1N1 swine flu virus, but that vaccine will not be available. Only the influenza vaccination will be offered.The shots will be available to anyone over 10 years old on a first-come, first-served basis. For information, call 1-877-352-6200.

A basket and bag bingo event will be held Oct. 11 in the cafeteria of Butler High School, 120 Campus Lane. Doors open at 11 a.m., lunch is at noon and bingo starts at 1 p.m.The donation includes lunch and 20 regular games. There also will be raffles, 50/50 and a Chinese auction.Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.Tickets are available in advance or at the door.
