Bono owes the Steelers six points
Don’t blame Jeff Reed, Steeler fan.
Blame Bono.
Reed, one of the NFL’s all-time accurate kickers, missed two field goals against the Chicago Bears on a soggy Sunday evening at Soldier Field as the Steelers lost, 17-14.
It was the first time since 2004 that Reed missed two field goals in a game.
These two were relative gimmes. The king of destroying bathroom towel dispensers misfired on kicks from 38 and 43 yards.
But it wasn’t necessarily his fault.
The field was sloppy from a steady rain that began early in the game.
To make matters worse, the portion of the field where Reed’s two misses occurred had been re-sodded earlier in the week after a U2 concert damaged the turf.
Way to go, Bono. You made it a "Sunday Bloody Sunday" for the Steelers and Jeff Reed.
I guess you could say Reed was in that “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” video — for real this time.
Towel dispensers everywhere were shaking Sunday night.
