Nick and Carole Toubakaris met in 1969, when Carole was studying in Greece through a program at Seton Hill University. The couple married the following year.

Although the Toubakarises raised their three children in Butler County, the family traveled every other year to Nick's homeland, hosting family on alternate years.

In recent years, Nick, 68, retired from his job as owner of the Nicholas Mayflower moving company. Carole, 61, retired from her job as a Penn State Cooperative Extension family living agent.More available to travel, the Meridian couple hopes now to visit Greece annually.
