SUMMIT TWP — A Butler woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash Friday afternoon along Geibel Road.

According to a state police report, Kathleen A. Jumba, 59, was not wearing her seat belt when her 2004 Ford Escape failed to negotiate a curve while headed north on Geibel Road at about 2:32 p.m.

The SUV struck a large rock on the west side of the road, then went down a 40-foot embankment before rolling onto its side. Although her air bag deployed, Jumba was ejected from the vehicle.

Butler County Deputy Coroner Dennis Trzeciak pronounced Jumba dead from the crash injuries at 4:02 p.m.

He said this morning Jumba probably died on impact.

Young Funeral Home in Butler is handling arrangements for the funeral.

East Butler Ambulance and state police responded to the emergency call, and police do not consider road conditions to have been a contributing factor in the crash.
