MONROEVILLE — State police have identified a woman killed when her vehicle was traveling the wrong way and collided with a tractor-trailer on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Police say the dead woman is 36-year-old Andrea Baker, of Harmar Township. The eastbound lanes of the turnpike near Monroeville were shut down for several hours after the crash at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say Baker's vehicle collided with the tractor-trailer then hit another truck. Police say the drivers of those vehicles were not hurt.

Police say a child was in a restraint seat in Baker's vehicle and escaped serious injury, though the child was taken to a hospital for treatment.

HARRISBURG — A Pennsylvania appeals court has upheld a Lehigh County judge's ruling that a man must remove a modular housing unit from his property.But Craig Bowes and his wife, Elizabeth Feudale, maintain that the structure's anti-allergen properties are critical to Feudale's health and plan to appeal the July 7 Commonwealth Court ruling.The 11-by-14-foot steel and porcelain unit, called a "bubble," was placed on a South Whitehall Township property without permits. Lehigh County Carol McGinley said in her October ruling that she sympathizes with Feudale's medical problems, but there's no excuse for defying local regulations.
