Evelyn Minshull paints an oil pastel portrait of Matthew Kroner, 5, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Kroner of Butler, on July 20, 1974, during the 11th annual Butler County Music and Arts Festival at Armco Park. The show featured a variety of music and stage performances, as well as exhibitions and workshops for artists spread out over the weekend. Butler County is host to two major arts festivals today: the Age of Aquarius Art & Music Festival, which is sponsored by the nonprofit group Associated Artists of Butler County and held every January at The Art Center in Butler, and the Kaleidoscope Arts Festival, which is held each April on the campus of Slippery Rock University, with related events in Slippery Rock and Butler.
