It's your birthday Darling, and I'm still waiting for you to come through the door. It's like you've been on an extended hunting trip, but as the days turn into years, I realize that you won't be coming home. I know that you only left me in the physical sense as your spirit lives in our home and your love will live forever in my heart. Deep in my heart I know we will be together again in a place where people are whole and there is no cancer. Where you stay young forever with a perfect ever after.

I am content to know that you are with Dad, and my cousin Pete, and none of you are suffering anymore. So, today there is no cake to celebrate and next week I will spend our anniversary with your memory knowing that as much as I need you, God must have needed you more.
