Well Sally, you complained i am comparing SBCSD teachers to teachers in other states. I guess i was only taking a page from the teachers union playbook(cuts BOTH ways there, doesn't it Sally?)

What i don't understand is why anyone things the union is entitled to anything. You are provided an opportunity to work for the district. Since the district is paying you, the district has the right to decide how much they can pay you(taking into a number of factors). You have the right to accept what your employer is willing to pay you, or you can find another employer who will pay you what you want. The union will find very few sympathetic ears among their employers(the taxpayers who pay their salaries) as long as they are being offered bigger raises and better benefits than most of their employers(the taxpayers) are currently getting. As i suspected, i do know these facts that you claim i was not in possession of. Does not change anything. The board is offering a FAIR contract. Why should they "negotiate" when what they are offering is already generous.

Again i say, if money is your main driving force, then by all means go to another district that will pay you the money you think you deserve. Perhaps a district with metal detectors, armed guards and daily assaults on teachers? I mean, after all, working conditions don't mean anything, it's all about the Benjamins, right?
