As another year passes, the emptiness grows,

The loneliness increases and I know it shows.

I thought it would get easier over time,

But the memories of you, I'll hold in my heart for a lifetime.

You never knew that you were my inspiration,

For I looked up to you, my rock, my salvation.

If we knew then the way the outcome would be,

We would have done things so much differently.

I will always feel that tremendous void inside,

Because you are no longer here by my side.

If you are sending any signs my way,

Let me know you're near and not far away.

Do you hear the words that I say to you?

Is your presence around me everywhere too?

It's hard to go on each struggling day.

Without you here Bill since you've gone away.

Are you still watching me from the sky,

So many times I've asked the question why.

A sense of closure is what I am after,

So once again in life I could enjoy some laughter.

I loved you for you're the one who's always had my heart,

And I miss you so much since we've been apart.

Within my heart you'll always be there,

No matter what changes in my life come to bear.

So until my journey on earth nears the end,

And see Our Father and hear the angels sing again.

I'll face each new day as it comes my way,

And I will live off the love you bring to me each day.
